Summary:碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 國民教育研究所 === 88 === A Study of Process on The Small Group of Educational Program for Parents of Hearing Impaired Preschool Children Thesis for Master Degree in Education Yang, Teng-Hui National Chiayi University Abstract The purposes of this study were to investigate developmental process and result on the small group of education program for parents of hearing impaired preschool children. This study sample consisted of twelve parents of hearing impaired preschool children at experimental elementary school affiliated with National Chiayi University. This study was to development a 20-hours program. First the researcher must understand the parents’ real educational need, so the individual parent’s need were investigated. Then the researcher need to interview the class teachers of preschool, and observe the parents’ behavior in classroom. After understanding educational need, the researcher designed this program to put into practice. The topics of the program were focused on the knowledge of upbringing; the development of language and technique of the cure; the welfare and the educational placement; the professional knowledge for deafness. The method of this study was action research to make use of analysing documents, observing, and interviewing. The results showed that: (a) educational need for parents of hearing impaired preschool children must consider carefully from different direction. (b) the knowledge of upbringing was the first important contents. (c) this educational program was designed base on the results of parents’ need investigated. (d) under the process of the small group, this program could change suitably. (e) the parents of the small group could communicate enthusiastically with each other, but the conflict between parents and a teacher had effected interaction and communication for specific members in the group. (f) the parents could share their experience of upbringing in the group, and they made the group becoming supportable organization. (g) the positive dynamic in the group could be united with the parents. (h) the parents could increase the knowledge of upbringing and play successful roles. (i) the parents could increase the capability of thinking themselve. (j) the parents could positive participate in education. Finally, this study will, according to the research results and limit, raise suggestions in fields of educational administrations for parents in school and further research.
