I. In the family of origin, parents'' role characteristics, power structure, household labor and family role identification all function crucially in the marital adjustment and reconstruction of relations.
II. In the process of a couple''s conflict, this research found three patterns: (1)following traditional roles; (2) retreating from the conflict; and (3) drawing up new conception of power.
III. In a traditional paternally-dominated family, wives were supposed to sacrifice for her married family, neglecting her deserving of respect from the family. In this case, the husband attitude becoming crucial, frequently emerging critical factor for the wife''s positive accommodation.
IV. For a couple, conflicts never mean nothing constructive. In a view of Social exchange Theory, this research found husbands tended to escape from the conflict, and, contrarily, wives tended to clear up the conflict, especially at the initial stage, yet usually in vain.
V. Although, with the rapid change of society, the traditional concept of household labor, the stereotype with the wives assume most housework is still on the way among couples. VI. The marital relationship is a multi-dimensional structure in which "being equal" is not easily applied. Therefore, a husband''s respect and consideration do increase the satisfaction of marriage.
Farther, four suggestions are presented: (1) implementing happy marriage symposium, (2) culturing marriage consultants, (3) raising a warm ethos of close couples, and (4) reinforce equal sex education.
