Summary: | 碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 工業教育學系 === 88 === This thesis reports the results of the study of core competencies of a manufacturing department based on the review of related literature, the research of the relationship between the core competencies and their internal and external environment, and understanding of how to acquire and cultivate them.
In order to improve the validity of the content, this research was conducted on the base of semi-structured interviews with some experienced manufacturers and then reviewed by advisor professor. After interviewing with nine well-known business companies and audio recorded our conversation during the interview, I had made portfolios on file and asked for confirmation of the content by the interviewees. Then, I analyzed, made conclusions and suggestions of what I had found in my research. The summarizations are as following:
1.The growth of core competencies of the manufacturing department was based on innovations.
2.The aim of manufacturing department was to meet customers'''' needs.
3.The shorter the life cycle of product the higher the innovation and higher protection barrier are needed to be cultivated.
4.The internal/external environment affected the core competencies of a manufacturing department. The revolutions of technology influenced the manufacturing department the most.
5.To improve the core competencies of the manufacturing department needs clear corporate strategy, flat organization structure, learning, and innovational organization culture to work in concert.
6.The core competencies were gain by outsource, made a new prospect for the manufacturing department.
7.Recruiting and cultivating the core human resource based on bring-up internal-knowledge to help develop and maintain the core competencies of the manufacturing department.
8.Knowing people''''s skill and utilizing them to their best at work.
9.The best way that kept and attracted talents was providing a proper, valuable, and effective training and promotion.
10.Setting up a well-structured database could provide continuity and renew the core competencies of the manufacturing department.
Suggestions for businesses are as following:
1.Innovation is the key for business success.
2.Searching for niche opportunities and actively approach customers to understand them and meet their needs.
3.A business should constantly break-through, improve and protect itself to avoid be copied by others.
4.A business should periodically scan the changes in the inner/ external environment and taking the action of "diagnostic", "prevention", and "healing"
5.Knowing workers well, and using them well would prompt the core competencies.
6.Cultivated and build up core human resource could strengthen a business competitiveness.
7.The proper motivation and care for the value, quality, and needs of employees could hold the core staffs.
8.Making good use of information technology, web sites, and networking to develop the core competencies.
