The rapid development of information technology(IT) makes effective management possible, and therefore to introduce information technology into an enterprise has become an inevitable trend. Information technology causes great changes in the contents and ways of work, and leads to organizational restructuring. The IT impact becomes an important issue in business administration. In this information age, with the rapid progress in Internet and WWW, the IT system will become a crucial foundation of the future information society. This research chooses machinery industry as the subject. The tool machine was one of Taiwan’s major industries and encounters the transitional changes to upgrade its production status. This study serves three purposes:First, to analyze tool machine production with current high-tech development in Taiwan by using the strategic model of environment-organization-co-opetition as the analytical tool. Second, to use information technology to enhance the competitive advantages of a firm. Third, to establish effective fitness between business process management and information technology.
