Conventional experimental designs and Taguchi method are two techniques. Taguchi method has been widely implemented in industry due to its simplexity. Most of the quantitative quality response in a state system. However, in some cases, the desired quality response may be a qualitative(or ordered categorical) type quality response and optimization of a qualitative quality response has seldom been mentioned in the literature. In addition, optimzing a dynamic system has received more attentions in recent years due to the increasing complexity of the product design. Hence, optimizing the ordered categorical response in a dynamic system becomes an important issue in improving the product/process.
