To fulfill the research purpose, questionnaire survey had been adopted. A total of 474 teachers in primary schools were sampled as the subjects for this study. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and chi-square. The main results of this study were described briefly as follows: 1.The decisions of choosing PET. 44% teachers bought PET and the version they adopted was mainly up to the school meeting. 56% teachers did not buy PET, and the decision was made by teachers themselves. 2. The criteria of choosing PET. The criteria for choosing PET were “the contents that met students’ need”, “instructional design”, and “service of publisher”. 3. The current usage status of the PET. 47.5% teachers often used the PET in classes. 71.7% teachers never ask students to prepare the contents of textbooks. 73.5% teachers often used textbooks to prepare their instruction. Over 60% teachers did not think that primary school students needed to use PET. 4.Current usage status of the physical education teacher’s manual. 66.8﹪% teachers used the teacher’s manual to understand the material. 57.8% teachers often used the teacher’s manual to arrange their teaching schedules.84.6% teachers thought they needed to use the teacher’s manual. 5.Teachers’ opinion of physical education textbook’s contents. (1) Over 60% teachers agreed that the contents of PET interested students and were related to students’ life experiences. 52.5% teachers agreed that the contents took places, equipment, and number of students into consideration. 43.0% teachers thought the contents was lack of introducing some physical education common sense. (2) 52.9% teachers agreed that the textbooks included useful contents for rainy days and 32.7% disagreed. 42.6% teachers agreed that the contents did not link well between grades. (3) 33.2% teachers agreed that the contents had proper link with other related courses and 34.5% teachers disagreed. 6.Teachers’ opinion of instructional design in physical education teacher’s manual. (1) More then 70% teachers agreed that the teacher’s manual “guided them to understand the material and further have good instruction”, “offered diversified teaching skills”, “safety instructional design”, “active and various instructional design”. (2) 40.8% teachers agreed that the instructional design took individual differences of students into consideration and 28.7% disagreed. (3) 49.8% teachers agreed that the instructional design inspired teachers to have further study and research. 68.2% teachers agreed that the PET offered proper analysis of the contents and enhanced teachers’ teaching skills and knowledge. 52.5% teachers agreed that the textbooks provided with various and concrete evaluation methods. (4) 47.5% teachers agreed that the textbooks offered a reference standard of evaluation for various materials. 7.The contents of ideal PET and teacher’s manual. (1) Teachers thought the ideal PET should include basic skill learning, games design, rules of game, methods of self-practice, self-evaluation, history of sport events, stories of sport notables. (2) Teachers thought the ideal teacher’s manual should include basic skill learning,, games design, rules of game, examples of instructional design, concrete evaluation items and reference standard for grades, teaching guidance, history of sport events, teaching preparation guidance, teaching goals guidance, stories of sport notables, teaching time guidance. 周宏室 2000 學位論文 ; thesis 93 zh-TW
