The steady two-dimensional flow will be assumed to be a k-εturbulent flow model. The resulting continuity, momentum and energy equations are solved based on the SIMPLE algorithm. The effects of different flow rate of the flue gas on the flow field, Nusselt numbers and friction factors are investigated in detail. The numerical results are compared with the in-situ measurements obtained from Sin-Dar Power Plants, to verify the theoretical flow model and numerical accuracy. Secondly, based on the thermal and hydraulic correlation of the superheater and reheater obtained above, an interactive computer aided design software for the performance evaluation of the superheater and reheater are developed. The software has the following function: users inputs the size of a superheater or reheater(including the tube outside diameter, tube thickness, tube material, tube length, tube arrangement and tube numbers, etc.), the flow rates and inlet temperatures of both side fluids(flue gas on tube outside and steam on tube inside), the program can predict the outlet temperatures and pressure drops of both side fluids, and the tube wall temperature distribution. The application of this software are as follows: (1) check the performance of the superheater and reheater in order to decide whether they should be cleaned or repaired (2) design of the superheater and reheater when setting a new power plant.
