Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 機械工程學系 === 88 === The purpose of this work is to design anti-dive front suspension mechanisms for bicycles. The history of bicycle manufacturing industry in Taiwan is firstly introduced as background information. The anti-dive theorem is then derived. The anti-dive effect is estimated with the dimensions of the linkages. QFD technique is then applied to convert qualitative customer requirements into quantitative engineering specifications. Based on existing mechanisms, a systematic design methodology is applied, subject to design requirements and constraints, for the structural synthesis of bicycle front suspensions, and eight design concepts are synthesized. Decision Matrix Method is further applied to decide which of the eight solutions is the best new design. The detail dimensions of the new type anti-dive device are designed by considering the dimensions of the existing bicycle parts. A computer simulation software is developed and a prototype is built. The results show that the designed anti-dive front suspension mechanism is able to achieve the requirements. In conclusion, this work develops a systematized methodology to design a feasible anti-dive front suspension mechanism for bicycles, which may lead into a new generation of anti-dive front suspension mechanisms for designing bicycles.
