Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 電機工程學系 === 88 === QoS is the most important subject in the present network. Integrated Service (IS) and Differentiated Service (DS) that had been proposed to study are two major QoS-enable network architectures. QoS connection in the IS or DS network works through RSVP signaling. Both software and hardware of the network device must support RSVP protocol and provide RSVP API to Internet applications. RSVP-aware application is one of the elements, which make up an RSVP-enable network, but RSVP-aware applications in the Internet are rare. The paper proposed a transparent approach, which called QoS Library Redirection (QLR). It uses library redirection mechanism, which makes legacy Internet applications RSVP-aware in the run-time. The legacy Internet application with QLR connects an RSVP-protected channel. Finally, we use UNIX Ftp applications as an example to demonstrate this solution.
