| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 資訊工程研究所 === 88 === In this thesis, an Web-based network management system (WNMS) and the applied Internet Telephone network management are proposed. Using SNMP-based application interfaces supported by Window NT, the WNMS can detect the status of system components, monitor the activities of SNMP-enabled system components, and distribute the system load into each system component. Additionally, the WNMS system is Web-enabled. The WNMS system is encapsulated into an ActiveX object stored in any WWW server that can be downloaded to and reused in any Web client site operating on Window NT. We have implemented the WNMS system and equipped the corresponding ActiveX object on a WWW server. Based on the WNMS system, a network administrator can use Microsoft Internet Explorer to monitor their virtual private networks (VPN) at any Web client site without modification of the current WWW systems. Therefore, a system administrator can no more need to stay at a room to operate the system management; instead, the system administrator can remotely manage the system at any place where the Web client site is installed
