SMIL and WML are XML-based markup languages for multimedia presentations on the desktop computers and mobile devices respectively. Since currently mobile devices only have a small panel and limited computing and communicating capabilities, multimedia is hard to present on mobile devices. When mobile devices and other applications have the multimedia presentation capability, itwould result in too much overhead to have one markup language and one set of the corresponding web pages for one computing and communicating device, e.g., one for cellular phone and one for desktop. This paper proposes a language named General Environment Multimedia Synchronization Markup Language (GEMsML) that allows web page designers to specify multimedia presentations across various computing and communicating devices, e.g., desktop computers and cellular phones, via a single markup language. GEMsML provides markups for computers and markups for cellular phones. A GEMsML page designer can describe dierent presentation behaviors across dierent devices via different markup sets on the same page. Chung-Ming Huang 黃崇明 2000 學位論文 ; thesis 97 en_US |
