But recently years, consumer behavior and transportation researches find that consumers mode choice behavior is also influenced by environmental characteristics. This paper will try to examine the effects of extrinsic environment factors on mode choice model for consumers, analyzing the difference of mode choice behavior for consumption trips, using urban land use pattern variables which include the variables of consumer living environment and consumption environment.(e.g. population density, mix land use, housing type, public space, road design etc.)By multinomial logit model use analyze the effect of urban land use pattern variables on mode choice behavior for consumption trips. The major findings include: (1)The mode choice model with the variables of urban land use pattern has significantly higher rho-square than traditional model of using only travel time, travel cost, and socioeconomic variables without considering land use variables. (2)In vehicle travel time has be highest time value, next is walk time. This result indicated that in vehicle travel time is more important for consumption trips than works trips. (3)The regular consumption of articles for daily use mainly by walk, which the period in consumption of articles mainly using private transport modes. And, the selected consumption typically using transit. (4)The living environment variables such as transit stop distance, population density , mix land use, housing type, and consumption environment variables such as park space, walk space, the width of road near shopping stores have noticeable effects on mode choice behavior for consumption trips. 姜渝生 2000 學位論文 ; thesis 100 zh-TW
