Summary: | 碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 建築學系 === 88 === The urban street landscape is an important element of urban space quality. The formation of design guideline should have a method in the processes of street design, and this method can be a reference of landscape design. Meanwhile, the computer technology develops quickly and it’s new trend to simulate urban landscape by computers. Urban designers use computer rendering and representation that can be more efficient and effective than traditional tools for urban design.
The site of this research is a section of the Chung-cheng Road, and it’s part of the Confucian temple culture areas in Tainan. There are historic characters and valuable architecture at this section. The research is focusing on revealing historic architecture, and enhancing urban space with urban design strategies.
The purposes of this research include: 1. Observing historic architectures and environment of historic street, and try to use human vision to explain environmental characteristic which impact urban street landscape in historic architecture; 2. Applying computer simulation can help designers to quickly foresee results when the surrounding building of historic architecture will rebuild; 3. Discussing the process of historic street design guideline, and make another views of design guideline for space quality in street landscape.
The research issues are: 1. to analyze landscape design value and develop ability of historic architecture, 2. to discuss the formation process of historic street design guideline, and 3. To apply computer simulation for urban design in historical sites.
The operational process of historic street design guideline consists of the following steps:
1. Define design objectives and guideline attributes,
2. Analyze site and introduce landscape resource,
3. Study simulation objects,
4. Define design guideline items.
5. Conduct computer visual simulation,
6. Prepare questionnaires and analyze results, and
7. Define design guidelines.
The conclusions of this research are:
1. The elements of historic architectures neighboring building, to simulate by computer will be a good reference of design guidelines.
2. Landscape resources should be utilized as important factors of street design.
3. Good computer simulation can increase efficiency and result of urban design.
4. Questionnaires and their feedback let designers realize the difference among people. That will remove blind spots of design and improve urban design.
