碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 建築學系 === 88 === Abstract
In the planning of the adaptive re-use of historical buildings, their conservation strategies most incline to adaptively the re-use as museums. It is not until the legislation of Act of Cultural Heritage Conservation that the conservation of historical buildings come to the obligation of the Government, but the cases of the historical buildings which were adaptively re-used as museums were still few. Recently, with the recognition of vernacular culture and the revival of local economy, the cases of adaptively re-using historical buildings as museums are then gradually more than ever before.
Therefore, this study tries to probe into the effect of this conservation method to the historical buildings, and then to establish a set of standards for the architectural planning and design. It is mainly divided into three parts:
(1) The Preliminary Methods for Evaluation:
The methods most come from the investigation of previous related cases and theories and propose the idea that the balance between ‘conservation’ and ‘rehabilitation’ can be achieved in the view of ‘representation’.
(2) The Examination of the Possibility of the Methods applied:
In this part, the methods of the first part are applied to analyze the compatibility of different factors in the cases of Taiwan, and then to examine the possibility of the methods applied.
(3) The Establishment of the Methods for Evaluation:
This part is based on the result of investigating and analyzing cases, and then to establish a whole set of methods for evaluation. The methods are to classify the historical buildings into three kinds of ‘conservation levels’ which response to different aspects of ‘representation’.
