The software execution platform only provided user’s requirement without any unnecessary functions, and make the code can be minimized. So the cost of product can be down. Besides, the platform provides an interface of machine independence and make user can ease to use hardware resource. The design of software platform applies the microkernel and the component program design approach to promote the portability and extensibility. The software platform consists of kernel core, kernel extension and services. Kernel core provides the basic components that software platform need. Kernel extension and services provide the extension components that user required. In this thesis, we will describe the design philosophy and method, and implement a software execution platform on PENTIUM 166 PC and 80186/80188-experiment platform according to our design method.
