According to the land vegetation survey , there are 504 species, 343 genera, 119 families of vascular plants recorded. In the matrix cluster analysis (MCA), vegetation types have been recognized as follows:(1)Dimocarpus longan-Psychotria rubra forest type. (2)Ardisia sieboldii-Champereia manillana forest type. (3)Acacia confusa-Machilus-zuihoensis var. zuihoensis forest type. (4)Bambusa dolichoclada-Mallotus paniculatus forest type. (5)Mallotus paniculatus-Machilus zuihoensis var. zuihoensis. forest type. The vegetation succession expresses the path from the secondary forest of natural succession after high degree of disturbance of human, to the succession of Machilus-Ficus Zone climax of the middle and low elevation in Taiwan. According to Hydrophytes survey, there are 149 species, 105 genera, 45 families have been recorded, approximately 1/3 rate in Taiwan. including trees species such as Salix warburgii, Ficus septica, Bambusa dolichoclada etc. There was no submerged plants discovered. Poaceae and Cyperaceae plants are mainly dominant emerged plant. It belongs to a middle to later stage of standard hydrarch succession. Geographical information system (GIS) and global position system (GPS) were utilized to integrate related geographic digital data and land use type of Lu-Liou Dam reservoir and the geographical database and topic maps have been established. The data can be used to combine different periodic of files to complete the vegetation and environment monitoring system.
