Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 土木工程學系 === 88 === The purpose of the present study is to make clear the characteristics of periodic oscillation flow in the two-dimensional plunging pool, using flow visualization technique, fiber laser Doppler velocimter (FLDV) and the wave gauge. The characteristics of the periodic oscillation flow in the plunging pool ( including the fundamental frequency, velocity profiles, and air pocket in the plunging pool ) are investigated experimentally, using a novel flow visualization technique as well as fiber laser Doppler velocimter and wave gauge. Several detailed flow structures, regarding the horizontal mean velocity distributions, the growth and decay of vortex flow, the change of the fundamental frequency, and the range of the periodic oscillation flow occurred in the pool with different ratios of the relative drop height and pool length, are elucidated in the present study.
