Summary: | 碩士 === 高雄醫學大學 === 護理學研究所 === 88 === The objective of this study was to ascertain the continuing education needs of registered professional nurses of health stations (RPNs) and provide an applicable reference for the education course planning Delphi technique was used in this study to integrate opinions of practitioners, officials and scholars, conduct contents of courses and rank them according to their importance. Three questionnaires were used, A consensus was reached among experts questioned at the third questionnaires. Of the 70 completed all 3 questionnaires were 31 practitioners (44.3 %), 19 officials (27.1 %) and 20 scholars (28.6 %). The research team classified the opinions of all experts into five categories and 61 items.
The five categories were:
(a) community health care practice knowledge / ability (16 items)
(b) administration knowledge / ability (14 items)
(c) teaching and learning knowledge /ability (9 items)
(d) research and development knowledge / ability (9 items)
(e) self-growth knowledge / ability (13 items)
There are 9items which the experts thought the most important in the 21th Century , including :
· In category (a):(1) attending relevant advanced continuing education of public and community health nursing and (2) apt at case management theory / practice and developing appropriate management models
· In category (b): (1) knowing the present public health nursing benefit system policy, participating the reconstruction of public health units and (2) superior in communication and coordination skill, coping with conflict and keeping good interrelation among people
· In category (c) : (1) apt at basic concept of teaching and learning, health nursing education theory, teaching method and program design and teaching assessment (2) ascertaining the theory of healthy behavior with the behavior change strategy and skill
· In category (d): (1) superior in community assessment concept, using health index method to collect data, evaluate, analyze and diagnose to ascertain community health problems (2) aware of community development and organization and spreading the ideal of community health-proceeding to integrate community resource and practice ·In category (e), one item which is paper work and computer course of statistic software and internet training 。
Besides above 9 items, other 24 items are also important needs. The research team suggest that in-service education program need to be designed to meet RPNs, needs sequentially referring to the importance。
