Reorganization is one of bankruptcy proceedings under corporate laws, and only few companies are successful in the world, the reason why they succeed or fail is perhaps the central question in strategy. This paper examines the strategic change in reorganization process by field study (grounded theory), and explore the five stage model of the strategic change in reorganization process, which offers practical contents for further thought and research.
The five stages model of strategic change in reorganization process provides the value innovating strategies for preceding the reorganization. Within these strategies, we refer to (1) appropriate timing to present the petition to hold more existing resource, (2) efficient top management team to make appropriate decision, (3) effective resource integration to reduce cost and support all reorganization’s activities, (4) innovative R&D and innovative marketing strategy to capture superior advantage and profit, and (5) active associate relationship for their continuous support. In response to the poor situation during reorganization, strategic reorientations are central to the reorganization process, cutback and increase efficiency offers the primary association to their performance, but the strategic change under value innovation logic will be more important to guide a insolvent firm to recover, such strategic change emphasizes on the creation of firm’s value to improve all the situation of resource and capability by innovate technique, marketing, and management. Strategic changes should be implemented and maintained during reorganization.
