Second step, each coefficient of the prototype filter is scaled and then quantized as the canonic-signed-digit (CSD) representation with predefined precision based mainly on the minimum normalized peak ripple magnitude (NPRM) criterion. Third Step, an integer linear programming is applied to several least significant digits (LSDs) of the filter''s coefficients determined in the second step to reduce the number of total SPT terms. Designed examples demonstrates that the proposed algorithm is able to produce filters using SPT terms no more than existing methods under the same NPRM specification.
