It splits a flow from a single source into two parts under specified ratios, regardless of load conditions or pressure changes. However, in practical applications, any load variations of actuators will cause force unbalance on valve balancing spool. The flow divider valves dynamic response will affect hydraulic system dynamic behavior. There are very few reports available on the study of flow divider valves. This research will concentrate on analyzing flow divider valve dynamic behavior and parameters effect on the behavior. This paper describes how to derive static and dynamic mathematical models of a flow divider valve by theoretical analysis method and proceeds the simulation by MATLAB software. The objective of this research is for a better understanding of a flow divider valve response characteristics. From this study, the balancing spool mass and the balancing spool spring constant are identified as the most important parameters on the valve response characteristics. The mass will affect the valve response time and the spring constant will control the precision of the valve.
