Description
Summary:碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 土木及水利工程研究所 === 88 === The shortage of natural graded aggregates is getting serious; also, a huge amount of construction demolitions had been threw away carelessly after Chi-Chi earthquake. As a result, the understanding of dealing with these demolitions and reuse them is essential and important. In this research, the most components in construction demolitions, concrete and brick were used as main materials to process the tests. The primary aim is discussing the possibility of using construction demolitions as road base materials. Two schemes were adopted in this research. Smashing and grading the materials, mixed them in different ratios then processing diverse tests of the mixed materials by using AASHTO code. The tests included sieve analysis test, specific gravity test, atterberg limit test, abrasion test, sand equivalent test, laboratory compaction and the CBR test. According to the tests, materials, physical property and CBR could be decided for using in road base. Moreover, after analysing the factors and comparing to present code, the possibility of using construction demolitions as road base materials could be evaluated. During the experiments, the characters of demolished bricks had been changed obviously, even beyond the standard. On the other hand, the stability of demolished concrete was much better. Additional, yet in accordance with the increasing of the rate of brick, the CBR of mixed graded aggregate had dropped down, it still fitted the standard. As a conclusion, demolished concrete can be used as pavement sub-base course.
