Description
Summary:碩士 === 中原大學 === 機械工程學系 === 88 === The main objective of this study is to examine flow of non-Newtonian fluids with a suddenly applied arbitrary time-dependent pressure gradient in a uniform horizontal circular tube. We take the Power-Law fluid、Carreau model fluid and upper-convected Maxwell fluid as our non-Newtonian model. The study examines several kinds of time-dependent pressure gradients and properties of fluid, considers in the cylindrical tube fluid which is initially at rest, suddenly, applies a time-dependent pressure gradient to the fluid. The momentum equations are solved numerically by using an Implicit Finite-Difference method. Numerical solutions show the pipe flow of non-Newtonian fluids and developing velocity profiles under different kinds of pressure gradients. It is considered further the relation between volume of fluid and time to provide references to the flow control system of the micropipette.
