The benefit of the automatic ticket service of public transportation can not only improve the efficiency of the transportation, but also provide much better service such as the special service of the ticket, the integrate information service of the transportation and other added-value service. Those services can both facilitate us and lift up our life quality. They also do a great help in improving the competition ability of our country. So far, the domestic development of the automatic ticket service for public transportation has been realized in the fare ticket for both Taipei City Bus and Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation (TRTC). However those tickets can't compile in both systems. It causes a great limitation in lifting the efficiency and service of the transportation. We must integrate the whole system and provide people only one ticket in taking any transportation system without concerning the compilation of the different system about the fare ticket. In this essay, we will put our emphasis on illustrating the design and practical side of Whole Island transportation ticket service integration. We set the Taiwan State Bus as our initial integration target and use the contactless IC smart card as the media of ticket in the system. Using the contactless IC smart card can provide better security and higher efficiency for the progress of ticket examination. We have to consider not only the whole planning in both hardware and software, but also the procedures of the data transfer for the whole system. We use the MAC and CRC mechanic system to protect the transaction data. The other main point in this essay is the programming of the clearing center. This center has to provide not only the ordinary Clearing information, but also the business sheets and query for each company.
