For comparision purposes, 2D and 3D Navier—Stokes equations in conservation law form are solved directly using the second—order MacCormack and modified Godunov methods alternately to cancel the numerical phase error. The characterics of vortex dynamics in the development of spatial free mixing layer can be analyzed. Temporal statistics about this turbulent flow field are calculated. The characteristic features of the free shear layer are observed in the numerical results. These features are consistent with the experimental findings which lend full confidence that the simulated results have been validated satisfactorily. 蔡永培 2000 學位論文 ; thesis 126 zh-TW
