By means of the comparison of the theoretical and experimental data, we can understand the characteristics of different kinds of fiber Bragg grating. Thus we can use the estimated couple coefficient and bandwidth of a grating to provide an optimum design in the actual applications. In addition, for the approach of the fiber cladding modes, we use with the Bragg grating and the long period grating to measure the spectrum by the procedure of fiber diameter etching. Then we can get the relationship between the diameter of fiber cladding and the spectrum of grating. By the measurement and conclusion of the experiment, we can provide the reference for the development of optic network devices in the future.
