Abstract
Many problems occur from inconsistent user’s interfaces we used,because we can't fit the "past experience" to the new mode.This study focused on the problems with the transformation of user's interfaces with different operation modes.We selected two types of pager's interface structure and simulated it on the computer set. Time and procedures are recorded when the subjects operated the simulated interfaces.
The conclusions of the study are listed as follows:
1.The learning effect cause to the effect of"operation
inertia".
2.Giving the suitable continuous feedback from interface to
avoid that we can't determine on "decide making" and "error
correction".
3.Designers must understand the user's past experiences,
schemata and mental models when they are designing new
interfaces.
4.Consider about the usability first, then decide the number of
buttons and the elements mapping.
5.We need care about the silence aspect such as words, icons,
buttons mapping and the dynamic aspect of the interface
procedures and modes.
6.The consistency of interface mode can resolve the complex of
product functions.
