Description
Summary:碩士 === 大同工學院 === 機械工程研究所 === 87 === This thesis presents the analysis on flow instability of natural convection between two vertical infinite parallel differentially heated plates. Assuming Prandtl number to be 1, Pr=1, central difference structure of finite difference method is adopted to rewrite at each interior grid point the associated Orr-Sommerfeld equation into two difference equations which are composed by two functions ■ and ■. Subsequently, the difference equations are expressed in matrix form and the boundary conditions of ■ and ■ are applied at end points to obtain the neutral linear stability curves for various environmental temperatures. As a result, the critical Grashof number and the absolute value of critical wave number increase as the environmental temperature rises, while the critical wave velocity decreases as the environmental temperature rises.
