It is important to understand that the possible display colors on a computer monitor are different from those printable on a printing device. Furthermore, the color appearance of two monitors that displaying the same color may not be matched exactly even when they are being calibrated with their corresponding factory default. The International Color Consortium (ICC) provides a framework for a more universal system to implement the process of device-independent color imaging. Device profiles provide color management systems with the information necessary to convert color data between native device color spaces and device independent color spaces. In this thesis, a method that uses colorimetry and ICC profile to calibrate the display device such as a monitor is proposed. To calibrate display device, an improved gamma estimation method is presented. The gamma correction and look-up table correction techniques will also be studied. Experimental results using our proposed method show a promising improvement of the accuracy in the display color. Tsang-Long Pao 包蒼龍 1999 學位論文 ; thesis 45 en_US
