And MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface), a digital communication interface, is especially designed for electronic synthesis music and allows numerous of electronic instruments to physically link, communicate and exchange performance messages with each other. In this thesis, we study the arrangement and other techniques of MIDI computer music, with the applying of traditional musical theories, and studying representations of music information(i.e., in sound, notations or graphics)to construct an elegant piano composition environment; The proposed system provides appointed functions to composite notations, it also take the advantages of GUI(Graphical User Interface) which makes the system more friendly. And we have produced some MIDI songs with the proposed system in order to have discussions with nowadays popular sequence applications. Computer music has been widely used in movies, animations and computer games et al. Utilization the techniques of MIDI, the music composers can express music which would only have been performed by a large band before. Besides, in music composition, not only the techniques of MIDI, but also the traditional music theories are all needed to produce well-fined music. It’s why the proposed system should take the advantages of both features (MIDI technology and traditional music theories) trying to attain the new frontier for both the composition system and the composed music.
