We make use of the property of multivariate normal distribution and matrix operation with respect to multivariates to derive the generalized formulas for the sequential screening procedure for q stages,q=1,2,…..Moreover, we develop a software via Fortran IMSL using the derived generalized formulas for three stages to search for the optimal allocation based on the economical factors or the consideration of screening quality (AOQ). To illustrate the purpose of the screening procedure, an example with four screening variables allocated into three sequential inspection station is given, the Monte Carlo simulation results are also given for the case of more than three inspection stations.
