Summary:碩士 === 淡江大學 === 建築學系 === 87 === Title of Thesis : Computer Graphics in Urban Design- Total Pages:126 A Visual Simulation on Tamshui Subway System. Key Words: Visual Simulation, Digital Image, Urban Design, Landscape Arts Name of Institute: Tamkang University, Architecture Department-Master''s Program Graduate Date: June 26, 1999 Degree Conferred : Master Name of Student: Chen, jean chou Advisor : Chen, chen-cheng 陳 金 洲 陳 珍 誠 Abstract : People have used different visual simulation strategies for architectural and urban design for a period of time. Until recently, the discussion emphasizes on how to use computer tools to improve the visual simulation in design. The main purpose of this research discusses the use of computer graphics in urban design. By using up-today computer softwares in visual simulation of Tamshui Subway System. This study contains four parts. Firstly, this research reviews tools and methods of the visual simulation in architectural and urban design. The survey of visual simulation tools ranges from traditional tools and methods to the computer tools and methods we use today. Some issues of the survey are concerning with the Montage methods applied in the moving experience of urabn context. The second part of this paper discusses the developments of landscape design in Taipei Subway Systems. Possible improvements of landscape and visual impacts around Tamshui Subway System are explored. Thirdly, a visual simulation of Tamshui Subway System conducted by computer tools is presented, as well as specific design concepts are discussed. This visual simulation contains two types, the first type is simulated by editing the digital image, the second type simulated by editing on digital video conference. Finally, the experiences of this research and future research directions are discussed.
