Since both the magnitude and direction of the eccentricity for the asymmetric structure would depend on not only the internal layout of shear walls but also the external geometric shape, an intensive investigation is therefore performed detailedly in this research with respect to the seismic behaviors of various types of the multistory buildings including either irregular shear walls or unsymmetric plane shapes. The characteristics of torsional responses under different input angles of seismic force for all asymmetric structures concerned will then be expected to be fully understood accordingly. Furthermore, since the properties for the soil adjacent to the structure would affect the location of stiffness center significantly, the effective soil-structure interaction model is adopted in this investigation so as to obtain more realistic seismic responses. It is shown in the results that the most significant torsional effects would usually be found in the casese where the structural eccentricity line is perpendicular to the direction of seismic force. Besides, the softer the soil layers are, the smaller would be the shear stresses and relative torsional deformations of columns. Y. H. Lei 雷英暉 1999 學位論文 ; thesis 125 zh-TW
