Description
Summary:碩士 === 靜宜大學 === 應用化學系 === 87 === Nitroethane is a high polar solvent with a moderate boiling point and can be used as a potential separation agent for azeotropic distillation. Alkanol is an important solvent in the chemical industry. In this research densities and viscosities were measured for the four binary mixtures formed by methanol, ethanol, propanol and isopropanol with nitroethane at 293.15, 303.15 and 313.15K and atmospheric pressure. Densities were determined using a vibrating-tube densimeter. The estimated error is ±0.01%. Viscosities were measured with an automatic Ubbelohde capillary viscosmeter. The estimated error is ±0.4%. Excess volume, viscosity deviation and excess Gibbs activation energy of viscous flow were calculated using the experimental densities and viscosities, and a Redlich-Kister expansion was employed in this research. Semi-empirical correlation equations of McAllister and Heric were used to regress the kinematic viscosities. This study gives new useful experimental data which are satisfactorily correlated by Semi-empirical equations. Discussions of the effect of molecular structures on the densities and vicosities of fluid mixtures are also included in this study.
