碩士 === 中國文化大學 === 資訊管理研究所 === 87 === The main purpose of this research is to develop a new way in the use of software for business via an application of the product demand forecast system on Internet. Tradi-tionally, business may obtain the software they need in several ways. First, they may develop software themselves. Secondly, they may ask a software design company to de-velop it. Third, they may buy software packages they need from the market, and so forth. With more and more popular use of Internet and advanced information technology, it has become possible to obtain software services directly from Internet to assist business users in information management. This thesis presents a theoretical framework for the on-line software services as well as a system prototype for the product demand forecast system on Internet. The theoreti-cal framework for the on-line software services is based on the concept of information resource subcontracting and resource sharing center. It also integrates the traditional management information systems and Internet technologies to provide software services on Internet. The system prototype demonstrates how to apply the theoretical framework for the on-line software services to actually build a system on Internet. This product demand forecast system on Internet provides users five different demand forecast models for their production and sales management needs. It also includes an intelligent model choice subsystem that uses expert systems technology to help the user choose the suitable demand forecast model.
