Summary: | 碩士 === 中國文化大學 === 國際企業管理研究所 === 87 === The object of this study is to understand the factors influencing the effectiveness of Taiwanese Tool Machine industrial technology transfer mode. Based on Transaction Cost Theory, there are three types of technology transfer mode: (1) In-house R&D; (2) Cooperation; (3) Market Transaction.
In empirical study, Tool Machine industry is conveniently divided into two main sectors as targets: the Cutting Tool Machine sector and the Forming Tool Machine sec-tor. This study has builded up a conceptual framework of four characters of technology transfer mode including technology characteristics, industrial characteristics, firm''s characteristics, and motivation of technology transfer. The major findings of this study are summerized as following:
In determining the technology transfer mode, there is an obviously difference be-tween Cutting Tool Machine sector and Forming Tool Machine sector. The major differ-ence between these two sectors is determined by the influence of technology character-istics. In Forming Tool Machine sector, technology complexes lead the corporation tend to adapt the technology transfer mode of R&D cooperation, but Cutting Tool Machine sector can not support the assumption. To sum up, the firm''s characteristics and tech-nology transfer motivation achieve a same influence in transfer mode for Cutting Tool Machine sector and Forming Tool Machine sector. These major finding highly support this study'' assumption. The industrial characteristics only has one factor influencing technology transfer mode: the degree industrial competition.
In the performance of technology transfer, there is also an obviously difference be-tween Cutting Tool Machine sector and Forming Tool Machine sector. In Cutting Tool Machine sector, the performance of technology transfer is mainly decided by technolo-gy characteristics and firm''s characteristics. In Forming Tool Machine sector, the per-formance of technology transfer is mainly decided by technology characteristics, indus-trial characteristics, and firm''s characteristics.
