碩士 === 中國文化大學 === 兒童福利研究所 === 87 === The main purposes of the study are to investigate the inter-relational relations among the variables, such as stepfamilies’ parentis attitudes, the family atmosphere, the parent-child interactive relationships, and the adolescents’ deviant behaviors. How these variables are affected by different stepfamily situations, such as the genders of the step-parents and stepfamily-adolescents, the age of the adolescents in the stepfamily, the educational background of the parents and stepparents, the periods of the remarriage, the satisfaction about the remarriage, the relationships with the other parent, the relationships between the half-siblings, and income of the stepfamilies in the stepfamilies? And whether there are any differences existed in the stepfamilies parentis attitudes, the stepfamily atmosphere, the parent-child interactive relationships and the adolescents’ deviant behaviors in the stepfamilies.
The group of mothers studied were mainly selected from those of students enrolled in 5th and 6th grade students in elementary schools, and 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade in junior high schools, and 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade in intermediate/high schools in Taipei area. By using the on-purpose sampling method, there were 67 subjects obtained in this study. The five major questionnaires utilized include the self-information, the atmosphere measurements, the styles of the parent-child relationship measurements, and the life styles measurements. The data was collected and statistical analysis by SPSS 7.0, and the results were as follows:
1. The step-parentis’ attitudes would show a different relationship due to the step-parentis’ educational background.
The reactions and the requirements in the fathers’ educating attitudes would reveal significant difference due to the relationships between the half-siblings.
The requirements of the mothers’ parentis attitudes would reveal significant difference due to the relationships between the half-siblings.
2. The family atmosphere in the stepfamily-adolescents’ family would reveal significant difference due to the fathers’ educational background.
The family atmosphere in the stepfamily-adolescents’ family would reveal significant difference due to the satisfaction about the parents’ remarriage.
3. The parent-child interactive relationships by the stepfathers would reveal significant difference due to the age of the adolescents in the stepfamilies.
The parent-child interactive relationships by the stepfathers would reveal significant difference due to the satisfaction about the parents’ remarriage.
4. The deviant behaviors by the stepfamily adolescents would reveal significant difference depending on the fathers’ and stepmothers’ higher educational background.
The deviant behaviors by the stepfamily adolescents would reveal significant difference due to the satisfaction about the parents’ remarriage.
5. In the father-stepmother families, there is significant correlation between the parentis attitudes, the family atmosphere, the parent-child interactive relationships, and most parts of the adolescents’ deviant behavior.
In the mother-stepfather families, the harmonious relationships in the atmosphere would reveal most significant correlation between the parentis attitudes, the parent-child interactive relationships, and the adolescents’ deviant behaviors.
6. Both the harmonious relationships and the systemic maintain in the stepfamilies’ family atmosphere could predict the adolescents’ deviant behaviors in the mother-stepfather families.
The requirement by the stepmothers’ educating attitudes and the relationships between the father, both could predict the adolescents’ deviant behaviors in the father-stepmother families.
7. In the stepfamilies, there is significant correlation between the parentis attitudes, the family atmosphere, and the parent-child interactive relationships.
But there is no significant correlation between the parentis attitudes, the family atmosphere, the parent-child interactive relationships, and the adolescents’ deviant behaviors.
Finally, the discussions and suggestions would be proposed according to the research findings of this study.
