Blending these two materials were melt—mixed in a twin screw extruder for various R-PET/ABS content. Using melt index to determine the processibility; the mechanical properties including tensile, impact strength were discussed; its compatibility was investigated using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC)and Dynamical Mechanical Analysis (DMA); the morphology was examined using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)to observe the fractured surfaces of R-PET/ABS blends. The experiment result show that the R-PET/ABS blends can improve the processibility of original materials. The result of DSC, DMA and SEM indicate that R-PET/ABS blends is an immiscible system, but there are differences in degree of miscibility with blends. After the addition of ABS resin, it is observed that the tensile elongation and impact strength were improved of the blends 70/30 and 30/70. Thus, to add in ABS resin can slightly toughening effect in the blends. Jiunn-Yih Lee 李俊毅 1999 學位論文 ; thesis 86 zh-TW
