Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 機械工程學研究所 === 87 === This study concerns the dimension design of adjustable higher-order dwell mechanisms which are formed by connecting series of four-bar linkages with prismatic pairs.As the four-bar linkages reach their extreme positions simultaneously, the higher-order dwell characteristic will be observed. With connecting a proper constraining linkage, this higher-order dwell mechanisms can provide variable dwell characteristics and different input-output relationships. In this study, the first step is to seek the possible configurations of four-bar linkages and to select the suitable four-bar linkages for constructing higher-order dwell mechanisms. The relationships of geanetric parameters and the allowable selecting range are then discussed. Finally, a computer-aided optimization method is proposed for finding the design parameters of this type of mechanisms. A computer code is developed according,, which also can analyze the besides the optimization,which also can provide the motion analysis and animation of the mechanism.
