Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 電信工程學研究所 === 87 === The input characteristics of a patch array antenna fed by a coplanar waveguide are studied both theoretically and experimentally.
The analysis is based on the method of moments in the spectral domain. We assume that the metal and the dielectric extend to infinity. The surface electric current density on the microstrip antenna is represented by the entire domain basis, while the surface magnetic currents in the coupling slot and in the slots of the coplanar waveguide near the coupling slot are expanded by the subsectional roof-top basis function. When the surface electric and magnetic currents are solved, the self admittance can be calculated. By using the reciprocity theorem, the formula of mutual admittance can be derived. Then the mutual admittance is solved by the spectral domain Green's function. Applying the transmission line theory with the calculated self and mutual admittances, we can get the input impedance of the patch array antenna.
In experiment, we vary the distance between the two patches in the array and discuss its effect on the input impedance and resonant frequency. We also compare the results between these of theory and experiment.
