But, because of the limitation of the researches related to the information behaviors of the managers, the major factors that affect the information behaviors and the evaluative indexes are diverse. This research is based on an explosive method to find the factors that affect the information behaviors of the managers significantly within both the corporate internal and external environment. Besides, this research also tries to construct a rational model for explaining information behaviors. To summarize the researches done before, most of the scholars consider that the main factors affecting the information behaviors of the managers are competition、the characteristics of an industry、the variance of market and the characteristics of corporate. In this research we discovery that the characteristics of corporate and industrial competition are most effective. The variance of market and the characteristics of an industry are almost ineffective. Based on the process of information behaviors, we can summarize this research as four conclusions. 1. Both the strategic object and the ability of the managers have significant effect on the definition of information requirement. 2. The resource of a corporate、industrial competition、strategic forecasting and the variance of technology are major factors that affect the behaviors of the managers when searching and receiving information. 3. The way how managers analyze information is mainly affected by the competition of an industry、the strategic object and the situation of decision-making. 4. The managerial mechanism、resource and the situation of competition are key factors that affect the internal information transmission of a corporate. According to above conclusions, I suggest that if a corporate decide to construct its information system, the MIS staff should first understand the actual requirement of the managers (or the end user of information system) and the role that the information system plays within the process of the information behavior. Only under these circumstances can managers avoid the waste of resource and increase the efficiency of decision-making. Mu-Lan Hsu 徐木蘭 1999 學位論文 ; thesis 86 zh-TW
