Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 地理學研究所 === 87 === With the growing focus on environmental image, numerous study fields have conducted research and discussions on this topic from different perspectives. Geography employs Behavioral Geography as the basis for its study into environmental image. Because of the Man-Environmental conventionality of Geographic study, it will be an interesting research to study people''s image of the environment. Furthermore, the study of children''s frank feelings about the environment in which they live would provide us with a deeper insight into the development of our country.
The objective of this research was to explore pupil''s environmental images of Keelung Port, to study pupil''s cognitive map pertaining to these images, to understand factors that will ease the acquisition of new image elements among pupils, and to provide reconstruction suggestions that will enhance pupil''s vision toward Keelung Port. Because Geology is an integrated study field, this research combined ideas from both Geography and Psychology to arrive at its conclusion.
(1) Analysis of pupil''s background:
Sex ratio was moiety because of the normal distribution of class members. The proportion of students overstriding school districts was about one third and the proportion of pupil''s parents working in Keelung Port was about one tenth. Most pupils have lived in Keelung over one year. The results from chi-square testing showed that sexuality and images are correlated while other variables does not.
(2) Investigations of pupil''s environmental image toward Keelung Port:
