The differences may result from the form and representation of data, the familiarity of the user to the operating environment, and the ability of the user to interpret the data. The research discusses the factors affecting the use of ancillary data. It is concluded that representation and query conditions are most important to the use of data. The ways of operating GIS software are almost in 2D. Although software has provided the function of high-realistic landscape visualization, it doesn''t have solutions to assist users to operate more efficiently. Based on literature review of human spatial knowledge, questionnaire interview is applied to find out principles of evaluating landscape. The principles will be the basis of the 2.5D artificial visual environment. Querying process of earth surface is recorded in phonetic description , with spatial and attribute data as query features. After justification and generalization of the description , the research discusses the common importance of expression of data itself and querying. In order to improve the simulation of the human visualization , user preferences of basic visual factors forming human visual perception are experimented , as primal setup of query assist environment .Finally, the implied information will be an important source of information to improve the accuracy and the efficiency of query.
