Summary: | 碩士 === 國立台北師範學院 === 課程與教學研究所 === 87 === The main purposes of this study included : (1) exploring the content of "Homeland Education Activities" teaching materials of elementary school in Taipei County (2) understanding the implementation of "Homeland Education Activities" of elementary school in Taipei County (3) understanding the difficulties and inducing their suggestions to improve the "Homeland Education Activities". Finally, suggestions were provided for the reference of curriculum implementation and teaching materials design.
For the purposes described above, five methods were adopted to explore the practice of curriculum implementation and the content of teaching materials in the study, that were, "content analysis", "questionnaire", "observation", "interview" and "document analysis".
First, related literature reviews played an important role in building theoretical foundations and in developing the devices for the study. The "Homeland Education Activities Teaching Materials Evaluation Criteria" was established and applied to evaluate the "Homeland Education Activities" teaching materials. According to the evaluation criteria, a "Homeland Education Activities Teaching Materials Checklist" was developed to collect the opinions from experts. Second, the questionnaire developed by the researcher was used to survey the opinions of teachers and students in elementary schools. The subjects were selected from nine administrative divisions in Taipei County. Data gathered from questionnaire and checklist were analyzed through frequency distribution and percentage. Then, the information of classroom observations and interviews with curriculum designers, teachers and students helped to support the findings of quantitative data.
According to the findings, the study drew the following conclusions:
As for the contents of teaching materials for "Homeland Education Activities" in Taipei County, this study found: (1) Though teaching materials were edited by experienced teachers, the workload of every editors was too heavy to fulfill the ideal plan. (2) The content of teaching materials was activity-based and it could manifest the spirit of class activities. Nevertheless, there is room for improving student''s handbook. Besides, teachers guide focused on information-giving instead of other assistant teaching design.
With reference to the implementation of teaching activities for "Homeland Education Activities" in Taipei County, this study found : (1) Most of the teaching design were approved by many teachers and students; however, it is still inconvenient to implementation practically. (2) Most of the teachers could gradually catch the spirit of "Homeland Education Activities" curriculum in their teaching; however, both teachers and students have to try hard to adjust their roles. (3) Although studying and learning activities were planned, the arrangement of contents and schedule still require more efforts. (4) Administration was one of the important factors to influence the implementation of curriculum. Therefore, it is essential to enhance the leadership of administration personnel.
Regarding to the difficulties and suggestions for improving the implementation of "Homeland Education Activities" curriculum, this study found that the implementation of curriculum was not systematically planned, and there were still many difficulties in implementing curriculum.
Based on the results, the study can provide references for the educational institutions concerned in curriculum implementation, the designers of teaching materials, teachers, and researchers investigating into future curriculum evaluation.
