The method used in this study is semi-experiment design with four groups(classes) . The sum of the sampling subjects administered in the study are 140. The assessment procedures administered in the study are paper-and-pencil test, performance assessment, mix-assessment procedure of paper-and-pencil test with performance assessment, and non of any assessment procedures. Three tasks were administered in fall semester of 1998. Results indicated that: 1.The effect of the paper-and-pencil test assessment procedure on fifth grade students'''' learning motivation and learning strategies is worse than the others. 2.The effect of the performance assessment procedure on fifth grade students'''' learning motivation and learning strategies is worse than the others too. 3.Only the effect of the mix-assessment procedure of paper-and-pencil test with performance assessment on fifth grade students'''' learning motivation and learning strategies is better than the others.
