| Summary: | 博士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 教育心理與輔導研究所 === 87 === This study attempted to apply the dimension reduction techniques of Cole & Cole''s(1970) analysis of spatial configuration to locate the Holland''s RIASEC types on two-dimensional space. The purposes of this study, based on the above, were to test (1)whether the structure of Holland''s RIASEC types on the planar configuration conform to the ordering of the six interest types and geometric distance of Holland''s hexagonal model,(2)whether the direction of vector and consistency on have connection,(3)whether the length of vector and differentiation on the planar configuration have connection。
The samples in this study including adolescent students and adults vary in age, gender, and educational level. The samples comprised of 51,614 senior high school boys, 55,667 senior high school girls, 3,520 senior vocational high school boys, 4,576 senior vocational school girls, 1,908 junior technical college boys, 2,087 junior technical college girls, 3,942 university boys,3,427 university girls,2,895 adults(M),1,609 adults(F).Ten categories of samples including a total number of 131,185 subjects were selected as study samples. The instrument used in this study was the CEEC Vocational Interest Inventory. The scale measures the Holland''s six interest types, including R,I,A,S,E, and C.
The study results are as follows:
(1)The structure of Holland''s RIASEC types on the planar configuration of representation complies whit the ordering of the six interest types being hypothesis of R-I-A-S-E-C and geometric distance,(2)the direction of vector on the planar configuration is in accordance with the relation of consistency, which will be arranged for systematic sector. Namely,in that of high consistency, it is in fan-shaped of RC-CE-ES-SA-AI-IR order; in that of medium consistency, it appears in extended fan-shaped of CI-ER-SC-AE-(RA-IS) which covers part of the high consistency; in that of the low consistency, it appears in fan-shaped of RS-IE-AC which cover those of high and medium consistency,(3)the length of vector and differentiation on the planar configuration have connection have positive correlation.
The final section presents recommendation regarding the application of the planar configuration which applies to Holland''s typology theory and further consequent and constant study.
