The purposes of this study are to use the application of dynamic assessments on writing teaching in elementary schools and observe the effects of dynamic assessments for writing teaching on student’s writing process, writing attitude and writing performance. And to explore the feasibility of the dynamic assessment for writing teaching in elementary schools.
The research subjects, who are sixth grades of the elementary school, are divided into the experimental group and the control group. The researcher use ‘inventory of writing process’ and ‘inventory of writing attitude’ to measure writing process and writing attitude of two group before writing teaching and after writing teaching. Besides, the experimental group receives dynamic assessment for writing teaching and ‘inventory of composition grade’ four times. After teaching, the feedback comes from the teachers and students in experimental group are also investigated.
The main findings of this study research are summarized as follows: most of the teachers and students are agree with the opinion that dynamic assessment for writing teaching can improve student’s writing ability. The dynamic assessment for writing teaching is beneficial to the student’s writing process, writing attitude and the writing performance.
Besides, this research is limited on subjects and research time. There are some results and suggestions discussed at the end of this paper.
