碩士 === 國立中山大學 === 應用數學系 === 87 === Motz problem is a typical elliptic boundary value problem with one singularity. We generalize Motz problem such that three of the boundary conditions are replaced by a family of compatible functions. In this thesis, both numerical and symbolic boundary approximation methods are used to get its purely numerical and semi-analytic solutions. Our techniques make it easy to study a family of elliptic boundary value problems. We also discover some interesting singularity diminishing phenomenon of certain systems.
