Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中山大學 === 資訊工程研究所 === 87 === In this thesis we propose a three-level consistency model (3LCM) to maintain the information consistency for the dynamic shared state in a Web-based large-scale virtual environment. The model consists of three major techniques for dynamic shared state maintenance - the shared repository technique, blind broadcasting method, and dead reckoning model. Moreover, we propose two types of level management mechanisms incorporated with the three-level consistency model to manage the dynamic shared state. Depending upon the number of participants or the status of system load, the proposed mechanism can automatically switch from one level to another level based upon some predefined criteria to maintain maximum performance. Both Poisson process and server load scheme are used to establish the performance evaluation model. Comparisons of the performance of the proposed approaches and the shared repository technique were conducted. Experimental results show that the proposed approaches are effective for maintaining low server load over a wide range of participants and performs much better than the shared repository technique.
The results reveal that the level management mechanism based on the status of system load is adaptive to the variation of server load and provide a better service quality.
