Moreover, the correlative factors that resulted in the grief responses and the recovering process of grief were discussed in the study. The data of this study was collected by interviewing with thirteen parents who had lost their sons or daughters. By means of an open-ended encoding method, the data was analyzed qualitatively. The findings of the study are summarized as follows: 1. The Grief Responses Under different time sequences, the intensity and content of the grief responses differed qualitatively. The anticipated responses to grief indeed took place. The developmental trends occurred between the responses, involving individual differences out of universality. 2. The Correlative Factors of the Grief Responses The factors can be further divided into temporal-space, background and intermediary events. The interaction between individuals and factors and the influence between factors result in different responding path and rate. 3. The Recovering Process of Grief The individuals are recovery-oriented. The process of recovery can bejudged from four dimensions. The experiential grief will appear in difference perspectives; however, the "transition" is the necessity for resolving grief and appearing confrontation. The behaviors of confrontation can be viewed as an indication, turning point, and detection. Based on the findings of the study, the following conclusions are stated: 1. The grief responses are predictable, diversified universal, specific, temporal, varied, endless, subjective, and integral. 2. Diverse in forms, the cause of the grief responses within individuals cannot be attributed to a single factor or cannot be predicted. 3. The experiential grief, transition and confrontation are the necessity for recovery. 4. The grief responses refer to the recovering process, and there is a recovery-oriented phenomenon within individual. 5. Grief is positive in meaning Finally, the study offers suggestions in the following four aspects: the relatives around the parents who lost their sons or daughters, the parents in sadness, the counseling work, and the further related studies. 楊瑞珠 1999 學位論文 ; thesis 192 zh-TW
